Cincy Cleaning Co-op Story

In the fall of 2018 we contacted Co-op Cincy with the idea of forming a cleaning company, but we didn’t want a typical business. We wanted to create a business that:

• enabled all the cleaners make a good living

• gave all the workers a voice in the decision-making

• provided a healthy work-life balance

• offered a secure future

One member of the group, Araceli Ortiz, had a background in social services. She saw the power of forming a co-op that provided house cleaning services of the highest quality while giving their workers a stake in the business. Now Cincy Cleaning Co-op is cleaning houses around Cincinnati!
